Introducing The Wedding Album by Alice Harris, the chic coffee table book that is so stylish, it might just put your furniture to shame. More than just a book, The Wedding Album is a true conversation piece adding décor and ambiance to any room. Use it to strike up a conversation at a dinner party, give it to your sister as an engagement gift, or model your special day after the treasured moments of your favorite icon.
The Wedding Album is the first-ever wedding compilation book, and chronicles the history of weddings in a scintillating manner that represents photojournalism at its best. It accurately symbolizes a variety of cultures and time periods while honoring unions that created a lasting impact on society. Adorned with vivid images of legendary weddings including those of movie stars, models, singers and politicians, this incredible medley of photographers and stories illustrates the romance, love, celebration, and personal touches associated with the ways in which iconic individuals said “I do.”
Adorned with iconic images of couples joining together in holy matrimony, The Wedding Album features colorful nuptials from many cultures throughout history, as well as those whose unions make history themselves, including Lady Diana Spencer and the Prince of Wales, Jacqueline Bouvier and John F. Kennedy, Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Priscilla Wagner and Elvis Presley, Paul Newman and Joanna Woodward, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Sonny and Cher, Linda Eastman and Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono and John Lennon, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, among others. “It’s the perfect marriage: De Beers stores, the ultimate destination of the gift of love, collaborating with Alice Harris’s Wedding Album, the world’s celebration of love,” says Alyce Alston, CEO North America at De Beers.
Alice Harris first debuted in the literary world in 1996 with the success of her book The White T, and gained a stronger following when she introduced The Blue Jean in 2002. Sara Bliss, who provided the text for the book, is a freelance writer who covers interior design, food, beauty, travel, celebrities and relationships. “My love of weddings began with my own wonderful wedding. It was a spectacular party from the beginning of the vows to the ‘Last Dance.’ I wanted to honor the world’s weddings and cherish their customs, joy and happiness,” says Alice Harris.
All of the author’s royalties will be donated to Jewelers for Children, supporter of Make-A-Wish foundation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation and St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital. Since 1999, more than $23 million has been invested in these charities to help children whose lives have been devastated by catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect.
